Well, what a day/night! Brad called me at work from baseball practice. Brian had been hit in the eye with a line drive and they were going to the hospital. He would meet me there. Well good grief! I grabbed my stuff, told a few people and left. Sayre called while I was headed there and I told her. She was there first. I was at the light at the hospital and Brad and Brian turned in just before me. We got right in. The doctor looked at his eye and the cut below it. He didn't like how the eye looked inside. It was shadowy. His nose didn't look broken. He wasn't sure about the orbit of his eye, so he wanted to get a CT scan. That took a while. While we waited Gramma, Poppa, Visha (the girlfriend), her mom and brother, Mark Olivas, Jim Bailey, another fireman, Jess Kellum, and Rick Olivas (baseball coaches) visited. He was quite popular. The CT tech was really nice and said he did a great job. He didn't move at all. Then we had to wait for the CT results. The doctor came in and put Dermabond on the cut below his eye. He checked his eye again and said it looked a little better, but he still wanted us to see an opthamologist tomorrow. Then we waited again for the official results of the CT. When we finally got those results, Brian had a broken nose, an eye contusion, and a skin laceration. We see the eye doctor tomorrow, the ENT sometime soon and got to take Brian home. He is now resting quietly on the couch, sleeping on and off. What a stressful afternoon! I am doing well, Brad is pretty upset. He does not like the idea that he was there (actually just a few feet from Brian when it happened) and couldn't stop it. He would be happy if Brian quit all sports right now. I'll update everyone with any new information. Here's what he looked like:
