More baseball

Look at this. Posting again in less than a month! Woo hoo me! More baseball this week for us. Brian played in Bullhead on Wednesday and did a great job. Even his dad (his harshest critic) had good things to say. He went in in relief and did very well. He kept it in control allowing no runs, one hit, seven strikeouts, and two walks. He got a mention in the paper for "an inspiring performance". See it here: http://kingmandailyminer.com/main.asp?SectionID=2&SubSectionID=839&ArticleID=36684&TM=52967.4 In the paper was a close up of his face and the grand slam hitter's face.
Love that happy grin on his face. Normally he doesn't show happiness when he's on the mound. He is all business, but this game was a very happy occasion.

They played again on Friday against Boulder Creek. This game wasn't quite as nice. We kept ourselves together until the last inning and then lost it. It was not a great game. Brian did get one of two hits for his team, so all was not dismal. He was mentioned in the paper again this morning for that game. Check it out at this link: http://kingmandailyminer.com/main.asp?SectionID=2&SubSectionID=839&ArticleID=36742&TM=53714.64

I've also had time to sit in the scrapcave and do some creating. Here are the pages I was able to create so far:

They are all baby Sayre pages. Four generations, meeting Aunt Dawnie, footprints on my heart, and family faces. I feel a creative surge and need to make more pages. Must go now.

Here's another page.

Now, I'm trying to make up for lost time. Here's a scrapbook page I created today about Brian.

Baseball

Here's another short video of Brian. Hopefully this is of him pitching. No guarantees though.

Man has it been a while or what? Well we've weathered golf, soccer season has come and gone and now baseball is in full swing. Is there ever a dull moment? I don't think so, at least not with Brian. He was the starting goalie for the KHS varsity soccer team. He loved it when they won (not often enough) and took it personally when they lost.
Now baseball is the sport of the day. He worked hard in February on his hitting and made the varsity team. Not bad for a sophomore! He is constantly worried that he will be bumped back to jv (which wouldn't be the end of the world). He has been the pitcher, the first baseman, the centerfielder, the catcher and the right fielder. Nothing like a little versatility. He has done pretty well. Their first tournament was good for him and he went 5 for 9 hitting. He is in a bit of slump this week hitting, but has done just fine on the field.

Brad is helping with the coaching responsibilities for the baseball team. He started with jv, but couldn't stand it that the outfielders did not know what to do. He convinced Rick to let him move up. He does that every night he's not a fireman. As for me, I have been busy with Brian. Good grief! I don't have time for just about anything else. It won't last forever so I'm trying to appreciate the busyness of my life.
